Do You Guys Throw Your Tools When You Finish A Job?

I've noticed that I tend to chuck stuff and yell, "Woo" when I finish a task.

I just finished sanding a bedroom and tossed the sponge across the room leaving a nice dusty splat against the wall. Then I yelled, "Woo" without even thinking about it and got off the ladder. This is the first I've given any thought to it and I realized I do this a lot. Usually a pencil toss on trim jobs. Hammer flipped into the air if I'm working outside. Garbage can spike if I'm doing demo.

Maybe we can parlay this into an Endzone Dance thread.

No dance. Just sadness that tomorrow will be a repeat of today... and on and on and on... until I get as old as Tin. Then apparently, it continues...

Yeah I throw my tools into the truck in a mad dash to get to the bar. Then get pissed off tomorrow when I can't find anything.

I threw a old metal case circular saw once. Had a new switch put in and was cutting tails and leaned up against the foil back sheathing and got one heck of a shock.

"A place for everything, and everything in it's place"

No throw except if I am on a roof, then hammer, pry bar, I will toss down.

I take throwing tools very seriously.

Why walk 12 steps when you can just toss something?

Old habits never die after 30 years, except don't hit the bar anymore. A few too many Dukes of Hazzard Moments with the Popo and just generally a few too many Wild hairs let loose, back in the 80's into early 90's.

At the end of a concrete pour I tend to do a 'dropping the gloves' hand flick to throw my gloves off into the crete. There is also usually a Rick Flair style 'woo' involved.

Our Seacan is extremely unorganized, so lots of tools chucked onto shelves in the mad dash to not wait in the security sign out line.

No throwing of tools. Wastes too much time to walk over and pick it back up lol.

No.

I try to be professional and mature, even when I'm excited to go have a drink.

No, but I know a lineman that threw tools at cars going too fast in the work zone.

I only throw tools when they piss me off. Last time I remember, I threw my coil nailer off the roof when it kept double nailing . Finished the day hand nailing.

No. You could break something. And I don't really consider a sponge a tool.

And there's that.

Besides, the end of a job is rarely that dramatic. There is always a punch list, the special order light fixture that I'll have to go back and install, and the 2 add-ons that they decided they want done.

And then job site clean up, moving all the tools and job trailer, final trash run, etc.

I haven't had a "Here, paint this room" job in....I don't know when.

Re: Do You Guys Throw Your Tools When You Finish A Job?

Only thing I throw is a fit when my client thinks he's a designer and has me do some of the dumbest sh*t I've ever done.

I only throw tools when they piss me off then I get excited because I know I'll be buying a new one.
