Re: Diets

I've spent 100's of hours at the table and thousands of dollars on food perfecting this plump body of mine. I'll be damned if I'm going to waste all that time and money by going on a diet.

Not true. Plenty of people who have reduced portion sizes have lost weight but have never been in ketosis.

Ketosis is not simply burning more calories than you consume.

I'm having sauteed asparagus spears with bearnaise sauce tonight...some roasted miniature red potatoes with sour cream and butter and a salad with homemade blue cheese dressing.

Wish you were here.....

Re: Diets

I'm in the process of grilling up a 2-1/2 pound bone in ribeye that will make a couple meals. Tomorrow is burgers. Day after is tomahawk pork chops.

It's not all bad. Rach said, "Sorry for not making you dinner. I just don't know what to make and you're working late so it's like, 'what can he eat' and then I realize it's just more of your favorite stuff without anything else..."

I thought I'd have no problem with it but I ate other stuff more than I realized and now cut the beer out altogether too. My system is like, "**** you asshole give me more of something else"

All in all I put in a solid 12 hours today and felt great other than a head cold, and some achy legs... And being able to **** through a screen door. Something is happening to my system, that's for sure. Ultimately good or bad I don't know but supposedly I could have these negative dealings for another week.

Re: Diets

I live a KETO lifestyle for health reasons.

I eat any meat I want, fish & seafood, veggies that grow above the ground, (although I occasionally use onions and garlic) walnuts, pecans, almonds, avocados, some berries (minimal) real butter, heavy whipping cream, full-fat cream cheese, full fat sour cream, hard cheese, and eggs. Oh and the most important food group, coffee.

Lunch today will be bacon wrapped, cream cheese filled jalapenos.

For those who don't feel well on a KETO lifestyle, it usually means one of 2 things. (1) Not enough healthy fats. (2) Not watching your electrolytes.

The carnivore diet is like keto on steroids. The first week I get to go through keto and carnivore flu. It's not as bad as some people say they have it but it's definitely a shock to the system. That bacon wrapped jalepeno sounds delicious... I had roast beef and corned beef.

I'm doing this for 6 weeks then moving towards keto. It's a complete zero carb diet. Interestingly enough, my legs ache a bit but my back doesn't hurt as bad as normal. My stomach is giving me a double tall boy too. Energy hasn't been a problem since day 2 and 3...

I ate 2 salads a day when doing lower carb for that 30 days - I still never had good energy that whole 30 days.

I need energy, focus and drive to be high. A lot of moving Parts everyday. I don't have time to be half-ass, especially going through the symptoms you have right now. Jesus LOL

If those are not in the equation then I will not stay on it. I know for some people keto is the best way to get all three of those things. For me it was terrible for that whole month.

Re: Diets

If this is just for your back, have you tried an inversion table? Best thing I've done for my back.

Yeah, I belong to a few carnivore groups as well, but 99% of the time I am simply strict KETO.

Unless you had a ton of healthy fats and some protein on those salads, you definitely wouldn't feel good following that.

I was eating 16-24 oz of brisket, steak, chicken ect... every day plus eggs and bacon for breakfast.

Salads were for fiber.

I lost 17 lbs but I didn't feel right

Like I said I have a buddy who is in great shape, he's almost always on keto, and great shape, his energy is almost always very high, if he drinks beer or eats carbs he crashes severely for a day afterwards most of the time. He said it feels like he's working out underwater. LOL

Different make ups

Keto diet is different in the sense that you have to limit your protein and dairy. In fact it's really hard to consume enough fat in a day to make your macros.

Its crazy, I can feel myself pulling out of it. I was pretty crabby the first couple days and am leveling out now.

Yup. Lots of monitoring on Keto. The beauty of this thing is... Eat when you want, but only animal products. Yesterday, for the first time ever, I actually completely ate that 2 lbs ribeye. I was planning on eating today the rest for breakfast. I didn't have breakfast and only ate some roast beef and turkey for lunch. My appetite is getting to normal too now.

You know me, I normally wouldn't care if I was half assed, I'd just mope around the shop and piddle with little things. Tore my ass up Monday to have to work 11 hr's and then 12 yesterday. Today I feel I could easily do another 12. I think forcing the long hours helped push through it.

One of the things I'm worried about is losing some crazy amount of weight. I don't want to be pencil thin.

Vinyl, my brother in law has the inversion table and after a couple times using it, it really messed with my equilibrium. It didn't really do anything for my back.
