Demo Done Wrong

Demo done wrong, If you have a weak stomach you might not want to watch the video, but it shows the importance of always strapping up for safety!

Re: Demo Done Wrong

That bummed me out more than it usually does to watch somebody die on the internet. He seemed like a pretty alert guy. Probably knew immediately what was about to happen.

But really, what did they think was going to happen? That really seems like the wrong way to go about that. Why not do the controlled demo and drop the whole thing in on itself?

Re: Demo Done Wrong

The railings protecting the edge of the building should’ve been removed, he might have had enough time to make it to the basket.

But he would have definitely made it had he been in a harness connected to the basket!

Looks to me like he was tied off to the structure and as it fell it pulled him down with it.

Re: Demo Done Wrong

Right?
Imagine they got what they wanted and the roof fell independently. Now you just got a roof on the ground with an unstable ring around it. How is that better?

Re: Demo Done Wrong

The poor guy was running for his life. That must have been the longest seconds of his life as he was falling with that building to his death.

Re: Demo Done Wrong

Dang, he was right there, like had his hands on the basket, kind of there too. Then building drops and basket goes flying. Being tied off to the basket might explain why the basket took off swinging. Safety line pulled on basket before breaking or being cut by debris-structure.

Tragic all I can say.

The only thing that was in the cage was the tank for the torch, He was not tied off to anything as far as I can see....I think if the fence was gone he would’ve made it.

Re: Demo Done Wrong

One thing I've learned being injured on the job a couple times and seeing people get hurt or almost killed. Its always a combination of many things that make a situation really fubar.

Re: Demo Done Wrong

I mean he could have torched off a roof support that was closer to the basket too. They had all those bags of what I presume is the roof covering all over the roof. Seems strange. I hate to be stereotypical, but all those Russian videos have an underlying theme to them. What a **** way to go.

It's really sad, but how could something like that not have been imagined after several were cut? I wonder what they thought would happen.

We have a group of Russians here that work in the trades. They are hard workers. I like talking to them in the bar on the weekend.
