Daily Rituals - Meditation, Prayer, Etc.

Anybody care to share some of your regular "ruminating/contemplating" routine? Formal, informal, etc. meditation, prayer, yoga, work-out, etc.

I tend to sit in comfy quiet contemplation as a sip the first morning brew. After the first one, read the paper, etc.

I'm considering something more, but not sure what.

Re: Daily Rituals - Meditation, Prayer, Etc.

I hate getting up in the morning at the time I get up. So I try to get the most done I possibly can before I get the kids up and make breakfast for them ECT.

I stretch and do some mobility **** to get the back, shoulders and legs loosened up while listening to my podcast of choice for about 15 mins, while drinking a big cup of coffee.

Go into home office

Then review the time sheets/meeting notes and any reports from the guys the day before. Forward to the office

Review my daily schedule.

Clear inbox, return emails.

All that takes about 25-40 mins.

Start whatever office work I was working on the day before for about 45 mins - hr before I get the kids up.

Sometimes, maybe about once every other week I just space out that whole time or get hooked into Ct maybe once a month (I try and not.even look at it in the am) and **** up my whole day. Lol

I went to hot yoga three days in a row this week with my girlfriend while things were slow. Really enjoyed it and it washed a lot of stress away. I think I'm going to try to make it a regular activity when I can fit it in.

Morning dog walks, every day. Rain, shine snow, whatever.

They really love being out in snow storms.

Re: Daily Rituals - Meditation, Prayer, Etc.

I would kill a man to have a morning routine.

Usually it's me yelling at myself and everyone around me to get their **** in order and get us all out the door.
This morning I had to bring both child and wife to separate doctors in separate towns. As I'm shoving them toward the car my son is lagging and I turn around and yell the dad version of, "What in the ever loving **** are you doing!?"
He says, in a really frantic, rushed voice, "I just have to line my cars up on the kitchen table first!"
What the ****! You absolutely do not need to line your cars up on the kitchen table! Get in the ****ing car!

Hot yoga sounds nice.

So you guys really don't spend time doing anything in the morning or at night?

It helps. Make the time.

Re: Daily Rituals - Meditation, Prayer, Etc.

4:30 – 4:45 Stretching exercises (back, shoulders, hips)

4:45 - 5:00 Interval weights

5:00 – 5:30 Stationary bike

5:30 – 6:30 Coffee (2 cups)/news/day planning

6:30 in the office (email, CT, planning, etc.)

8:00 out the door for the day.

I’m thinking about adding some time for reflection, gratitude, prayer. Starting the first of the year I’ll probably take 15 – 20 minutes out of the 5:30 – 6:30 window.

It will never be a regular activity if you do it when you can fit it in.

To be regular, must be a priority.
