Re: Are Cruises Boring?

I've been on a couple. They were cruises that had Christian artists playing concerts a couple times each day. Also had a few land stops for sight seeing as well as things like snorkeling with tropical fish, etc.

And yeah, tons of good food whenever (didn't use the bar, sorry Inner) and they were very nice times. Especially when the business covered the expenses.

Now we have a 2.5 year old and almost 1 year old. We have missed the last couple cruises.

We did the Big Nude Boat on Carnival Freedom in February 2013. Set up by Bare Necessities Tour and Travel. 2000 nude people for 10 days.

Had a good time. Won the room in an auction, about half price.

Yep, just a floating hotel.

If you concern yourself with what things cost while on vacation, you really aren't going to enjoy it.

Re: Are Cruises Boring?

Most cruise lines offer a drink package, last one I was I paid $75.00 all you can drink…………if you can find a waiter

Passengers wait on the main deck before you go to your rooms, all the while the crew is forcing drinks on you before you have chance to buy the drink package, once we got are passes waiters would avoid us, pissed me off.

Cruises in general are like buffets, you get to sample places so you can see what place you would like to go the following vacation. My first cruise was to Cozumel, liked it so much I went back 4 times, awesome island and cheap.

First, I just mentioned bars not anything else. Sitting at a bar alone on a ship paying three times what I should is a crossing thought.

Second, I've been on dozens of vacations that were budgeted and we had a blast. Just goes to show you that being footloose and fancy free doesn't mean an enjoyable time. Especially when you come home and see what you got for what you spent.

Re: Are Cruises Boring?

My wife and I leave on the 12th for an 11 day Norwegian cruise/tour of Rome. Well tour Rome, colosseum,Vatican, Sistine chapel, etc for 4 days then sail around the Mediterranean going to Barcelona, Pisa, pompei, Florence, Nice, Palma Majorca.

I'll let you know if it sucks

(I booked this a few months ago before I was violently raped by a certain gov agency)

I know this to be factual because the boys built a tree fort in an oak we have right next to the shared property line. And when I confronted them for "borrowing" my full sheets of birch veneer ply and some super sweet 2x4s, they fessed up. When I told them under the circumstances that it was a worthy cause, thats when they described the true situation.

However, the people that run the place and their members are very nice folks.

In short -

The boys tree fort OTOH, was 3 stories up, had a regular "Man Cave".

EDIT: Here's a youtube. The first few seconds are at my property line.

So if you live next to it you can get your own pics. Hey, I think I am in good shape for my age. The place has lots of nice people. Come over when I am there and say "hi"

We're on good terms with the owners. Been there a couple of times during the off-season, once to help out after a storm, and the other just to BS like neighbors around here do. Besides, when you share lots of fence line with a neighbor, it's best to be on congenial terms.

Best place to find me, is at The Sunset Cafe in Metamora, or Ken's Coney in Oxford at breakfast time.

In any case, after this year, staying friendly will be someone else's responsibility.
