You would be shocked by the selection of Cubans here, plus they aren't much more expensive than in Cuba.

To be more specific when the big box trend hit we got massive Loblaws and "Real Canadian Superstores" popping up. In every location there is a separate smoke shop called "Holy Smokes".

Since they are all part of the one massive company their prices undercut most of the independent cigar retailers like "The Cuban Connection" and "South Bank News Plus". There are still lots of small independent smoke shops but I'm sure Holy Smokes has hurt their business.

Anyway most of the locations had walk-in humidors which were awesome...until a couple years ago Ontario passed a law that they can't display any tobacco products.

Every gas station and corner store had to put doors on their cigarette displays. Now you can't walk into a humidor you have to pick what you want from a catalog and then a guy gets them for you.

Tobacco is taxed out the wazoo here but Cigars aren't dramatically more then they are in Cuba...all things considered...but a cheap pack of smokes is still 9 bucks.

Now if the US began buying Cuba products then the prices would skyrocket.
