We need to train that bird to knock out the 'photo Cop' cameras at intersections!

I don't get it.

Why is it 'stupid'?

I have no idea. I didn't write the caption.

Re: Caught On A Raytheon Security Camera

I gotta admit, it's a cool video.

But I was expecting the owl to do something 'stupid', like slip off the perch it was aiming for. Or take a dump right into the lens.

Re: Caught On A Raytheon Security Camera

It looks as though it did fly into the lense as if attacking it.

Not too smart if that is what it was doing.

I agree, neat video.

This is the last thing many

"mice, rats, moles, squirrels, rabbits, and even skunks"

see before they die.

Re: Caught On A Raytheon Security Camera

I love owls. The last few days I've heard the Barred Owls talking to each other in the woods behind my house.

Re: Caught On A Raytheon Security Camera

The camera may be the size of an owl's prey and if it was moving, a hungry owl may have thought this was an animal tangled in something.

BTW, "A barred owl was photographed in Minnesota in 2012 predaceously grabbing and flying with a full-grown domestic cat"

kinda like this...
I took this pic by our bird feeder earlier this winter. I was about 8 feet away and the owl couldn't have cared less... I have to assume it's been hanging around for quite a while and has become used to our activity. You can probably make out my reflection in it's eyeballs...

If you are standing with your arms out, yes.

Imagine the owl is an armed drone and the prey is not a mouse but an unfortunate citizen of some country.
OK, the drone is not as graceful in flight.

The reflection of the person is reflected in the drone camera lens.

Probably each has the same number of seconds of life remaining.

They are good sized birds. I have a few of them out back, some Hawks that I haven't seen yet this year and a bunch of crows. Last year the crows "mobbed" the Hawks quite a bit, so I wonder if they will be back this year.

Re: Caught On A Raytheon Security Camera

We get a lot of howls hooting in the trees around our house. Doesn't bother me as long as they're keeping the mice away.
