Busted Up Mom

I Figgured I'd share some recent unfortunate events that have unfolded in the last 24 hours. My parents who are avid harley riders and do sturgis and bike week every year just headed out for a ride down the blue ridge parkway headed to tennessee for two weeks, just the two of them their bikes and saddle bags, no truck and trailer. I was over their house cutting the grass for them yesterday and my dad calls from his cell phone and I can tell from the tone of his voice somethings wrong. My mom wrecked somewhere around ashville nc, and is in the hospital down there with a ruptured spleen and broken ribs. I'm heading down tommorrow morning to go pick up the bikes I keep telling them they need a safer hobby like kiteboarding but they don't listen

I'd like so much to own a motorcyle, but dang... even a minor spill on a bike can bust you up real good. Hope your Mom makes it out okay.

Hope you mom is OK. I would like to have a bike too, but I heard a man ask one day why you would get on anything that can't stand up on it's own.

Re: Busted Up Mom

Hope your mother has a good recovery. Are you going to put the bikes in the back of your sprinter? or will this be a road test for your new trailer?

Re: Busted Up Mom

thanx guys for the thoughts, means alot to me and my mom saw this thread on my phone and really made her day. left yesterday at 0600 picked up and turned right around got back at 0430 this morning. I decided against taking my sprinter due to it only having 2 front seats and no rear windows and I had my son with me, so it would have sucked for my parents to ride back like that, even though the mpg's would have been sweet, so I took my ram 1500 crew cab. that trailer pulled like a dream, aside from accelerating and braking, couldn't even tell it was there. that torflex axle is sweet. Anyway mom is pretty beat up but otherwise fine. thanx again gents

Sorry to hear about your Mom having the accident, and glad that she doesn't have serious injuries. I used to have a cycle, but finally gave it up because I got tired of dodging other cars. Figured one of these days I'd not be able to get out of the way at the wrong time.
