Re: Boot Repair Adhesives

I bet Kerdi Fix would do it...

I throw away my shoes at that point though so I've never tried.

Aquaseal, cut with Cotol240, but I keep a GIANT tube in the freezer.

I consider repairs to shoes VERY temporary. Like until I can get to the store or order a new pair.

Barge Cement has always been the product to use in my experience. Make sure you get the original formula (glad to see they still make it).

Re: Boot Repair Adhesives

I've glued a sole back together on a Timberland boot that separated with PL Premium and it's holding up great.

Re: Boot Repair Adhesives

I've had a sole flip right off a pair of my danner's.

They were in great shape otherwise.

I glued the sole back on with contact cement. Worked for a few months. Tried again with gorilla glue. That lasted a few days.

I gave up and bought new boots.

Butyl adhesive. The high VOC stuff. Rubber roof cement would probably work, too.

Re: Boot Repair Adhesives

I repaired a motorcycle boot with Shoe Goo. My bike fell on it and drug it through gravel. It's still holding up well, my foot too.

Re: Boot Repair Adhesives

Since starting this thread, I found a good one. DAP Rapidfuse 30 sec.

Just for kicks, I cobbled a very sorry pair of Timberlands back together. Toe separation, edge separation, heel peeling....the gamut. Without even cleaning, just glueing and holding for a minute (then leaving for a day)....results were great. It smells like some version of CA glue.

your mileage may vary
