I've done a lot of work in Bolivia where if you go to buy rebar, you might just take a regular taxi and strap all the stock - looped in half to roughly a car's length - to the underside just like those 2x6s.

Yeah, until you hit the big rut and bounce your load doing who knows what to it and your truck, not to mention who wants to have to lie on the ground, hold up the material while trying to cinch it up and tie it off. If you have a pickup truck use it.
