Anybody's Wife Scrapbook??

Well mine does. She also goes on retreats two to three times a year for the weekend to out of town places that cater to these scrapbooking/quilting groups.

So, my wife has always wanted to open a scrap book retreat house, so we bought one. We bought a 4000 sq ft lodge that whose primary purpose used to be for housing girl scouts. It sits on 15 acres with 375' of frontage on Memory Lake. SMall private lake really, but its 24' deep, spring fed, and I saw a musky off the end of the dock. So its got fish.

Anyways, we bought and did some renovations. Just thought I'd share. We have our first group coming in early next month. One weekend rental will pay our mortgage, utilities, and taxes. If it rents out one weekend, great! Then I can use it the rest lol.

Heres some pics before:

And some after:

That's a pretty sweet looking place! Nice buy. I think you need some new cabinets though

That seems like a nice place for a small company retreat or something. Pretty exclusive it looks like.

Amazing place. Business must be good. Your wife must be very excited. Good for you. Looks like a good place to have the CT first annual keg party

Re: Anybody's Wife Scrapbook??

Thanks guys! Keg party it is! Consenting adults can bring some herb, I'll make chili.

Wife is very excited about this. SHe supported me and helped me through a lot when I first started my business out. She will keep her job yet, as she carries insurance, but shes hoping to cut a few hours as this will give some supplemental income.

I on the other hand, will be picking up extra hours since I have to maintain the place, and plow and shovel every time it snows. We cant have scrap bookers stranded in God Country.

This place is about 15 minutes west of Crivitz WI on Cty P if anyone is bored and going to use google maps. Just south of W. N5878 Cty Rd P Pound WI

Tell your friends lol

Re: Anybody's Wife Scrapbook??

BTW, dont tell the finish carpentry guys, but to save a few bucks I bought rough cut cedar dog ear fencing from Home Depot on sale, and used that for trimming around the big windows in the main room.
