My new go to breakfast. One regular egg, 6 egg whites, chopped red bell pepper, onion and slice of mozzarella with hot sauce in a wrap.

On a cholesterol med. Would make no sense to eat the yolk in every egg which is 62% of what you need per day per egg as far as total cholesterol.

I can't eat an egg sandwich without a cured pork product. Gimme a slab of back bacon any day over regular bacon thought.

Ribs the other night... Missing my usual alder smoke. Still turned out decent though.
Dry rubbed prior to grilling with paprika, onion powder, brown sugar, mustard powder, fine ground coffee, salt, and pepper.

Room temp soft (the way they usually recommend) or did you try to make it that way using the micro and misjudged it and it liquefied (even a little)?

Room temp (about 70) blend gently.

Left is baked chewy, how the wife likes them, right is bake "crisper" the way I like them.

Re: Any Of You Cook?

Left it on the counter for a couple of hours. It wasn't melted. It's a toll House recipe. It never comes out right. I'm ditching it.

Change the flour to 2-1/2 cups, make sure you're using baking soda, not baking powder, pack the brown sugar well, do not pre-heat the sheets, change sheets out, allow to cool before reuse.

Using 2 sticks of butter (1 cup)? Time on counter sounds correct.

Oven 375, pre heated.

Actually it's too big of a yield to do the full portions of everything I did carefully measure half of all required ingredients for a small batch.

I did preheat the oven and it stayed hot for a while because I got sidetracked with something else. Maybe they got flash heated instead of slow cooked I don't know........ A little more generous on the flower looks like it would have helped.

Re: Any Of You Cook?

I have mom's cookbook, it is a hand written entry on the Toll House recipe to make the 1/4 cup adjustment.

Halving and doubling does not always work, it affects the chemistry. Mom always double the Toll House batched (8 kids, I'd eat one batch myself), there is a novella of notes on what needs to be done to double the batch.

Also if you don't add nuts you need a spit of oil.

Center rack only, don't place a sheet above or below the center rack sheet.

Tom
