Grass fed vs normal - yes.

Fresh vegetables vs can.

Thst it is it.

After that it's either a good piece of meat or not

Re: Any Of You Cook?

What about a tomato you grow vs. From the supermarket. What I know about organics is they aren't much different then growing them in your garden. I lived on an organic vegetable farm and the **** they went through to keep that certification was intense.

It's about no antibiotics, no growth hormones etc when it comes to meat. But I'm talking about fruit and vegetables.

Growing food to look pretty to sell comes at a cost in quality imo.

Re: Any Of You Cook?

home grown tomatoes do seem to taste better than most of the grocery market ones.

we get tomatoes & veggies from small operation farmer friends of ours.

real tasty and they grow it as organic just no certs.

there is something about walking out in the yard and picking a couple of of miniature tomatoes and eating them right there.

same for fruit out of the orchard.

home grown or market beats canned.

grass fed beef any day of the week....

They used sea urchins to fertilize with. They also grew vegetables just to turn them back into the soil to grow another vegetable. For example, they grew green beans first, then tilled them into the soil because it helped tomatoes grow. These folks that worked there knew there **** when it came to this stuff. Lot more to it than meets the eye.

The farm I worked on was only 140 acres. But it was very educational to say the least. I was a full time carpenter for the farm. They gave me a home on the property to live in.

yes, our farmer friends, they have like 6 acres, one acre under green house, tell me the same thing. way more to it than just throwing some seed in the ground. pretty interesting to hear them talk about it.

We sold only to chefs and restaurants. Chefs would visit the farm all the time.

Yep. We had a full acre of herbs. Did it up beautifully. The whole thing was surrounded by sunflowers.

lettuce is another easy at home crop.

go out pick some lettuce and 10 minutes later have a salad is very tasty and imo, better than the store.

Re: Any Of You Cook?

I notice a huge difference in oranges and avocados as well. There's many homes out here with one or two orange trees and avocado trees. The fruit is outstanding compared to most supermarket fruit.

I think a lot of it has to do with what they put into the soil.

Some organic food you can really tell the difference, depends on the organic farmer also. Good organic garlic is so much stronger than good commercial garlic, at least the stuff we get.

You can tell it with fruits lots of times, good organic plums, pluots, blood oranges, raisins are so much more intense in flavor than good commercial ones which are much better than huge factory farm fruits as a rule.
