So you're not telling Inner he won't be blamed, only that it won't be on a headstone

Good to see you back in action again.. I'm going in the Gulf of Mexico. I've killed so many fish in that body of water it's only fair that some of them get to eat me at some point...

Breakfast of champions. Can't find cornmeal mush down here so I did what I could. Grits congealed in a cottage cheese container, sliced and fried. Brought back childhood memories.

Its basically a take on fried grits right? I had it when down in New Orleans and it was really freaking good.

Yea, that's the hot new cajun food. I've had it a couple of times at restaurants, once it was super good the other so so. It needs to be spiced right.

Growing up we would get cornmeal mush in a square tube, slice it thin and fry it in bacon grease then serve with maple syrup on top. My mom couldn't make it fast enough for four boys. I was trying to copy that with grits.

Re: Any Of You Cook?

For those of you into outdoor cooking, here's a guy that may interest you...Cowboy Kent Rollins.

He travels with his Chuck Wagon and does banquets all over. Yes, he actually cooks for cowboys herding cattle...

I've been down and out this past week with the flu and have been doing some binge watching of his YouTube videos. It's a lot more than just beans and biscuits...he gets into most everything...all done though in a cast iron dutch oven or frying pan. Very talented guy and entertaining to watch and listen to.

Anyway...thought some of you might enjoy his stuff. I know I'm going to try some of his recipes when it warms up a little. The recipes can also be cooked indoors on or in a stove.

Baking is a little more intense than just cooking.

Pie crusts are an "art".

Your right. I made adjustments the cheesecake recipe I followed for better results. Then the dam thing stuck to the pan. Tommorow I do less eggs and paraffin paper under the crust.

Crisco pie crust has never let me down. I tried a cut butter crust, was not happy with it.

Parchment paper is my go to, there are only a few times Iíll use waxed paper. Avoid cooking sprays.

I'm not even allowed to bake.

I can grill with the best of them, or cook on the stove top. I make great rubs and marinades. My buds are solid for knowing the outcome of a food.

Put me next to an oven and I get super frustrated with all those stupid buttons. Ours is like a space shuttle dashboard cluster. Then my wife tells me the times aren't always exact, every oven heats differently with different hit spots so you have to air on the side of caution. Recipe says ten minutes come look at it in less. But then you let the heat out as soon as you open it so you have to account for that which can make for a disaster in some baked goods.

No thanks. I've never cared for it. She's good enough to manage the inside, I'll manage the outside...
