The ones who, in my opinion, deserve the attention are our Vietnam vets. Everyone else has come home to a hero's welcome and generally been made to feel proud of what they have given for this country. My father, many friends, and several uncles weren't afforded that honor in the late '60s and early '70s.
Couldn't agree more. They were also forgotten and left with their demons to deal with those themselves. Sadly my Uncle who survived the battle of Khe Sahn and the Tet Offensive couldn't beat his demons when he came home.

Re: To All Who Served..............

its hard to say thanks to brutus's post of the trews video... good cause but another brutally painful trews song where they repeat the same 4 lines for 6 minutes.

as for family members who served, on my mothers side her father was the captain of a canadian motorcyle platoon in the 2nd world war. captain harry ripley, he lived throught the war and patrolled france and some other areas of europe i believe mostly reconnasince (sp). my mother has some of his medals, his helment along with his side arm which is hung on the wall behind the bar in the basement

on my fathers side , my great grandfather captain ted "paddy" kirk captained a transport ship for the scottish navy in the 20's then defunct to be a rumrunner which is how we came to nova scotia. my grandfather worked on the halifax dockyards as a machinist .

none of these men i met.. capt. ripley died in the mid 70's. my grandfather died when he was 33 years old and captain kirk was shot by the police in boston back in the 30's or so , i believe he was around 35 years old

as for videos, this has to be one of the most moving war related songs ive heard and its written by a iraq w war vet. the lead singer formerly of the "dropkick murphys" was a army ranger in the iraq war, came home and became a boston firefighter before starting this band

Precision floor. I wish I could take credit for that. I grabbed it off an email I received. Great read
