He never got due credit or send off.

Great times inmt 20's & 30's. I was at the playoffs game in 95 against the Indians. Aaron Boones big game.... I was at the Bloody sock game for Curt Schilling too.....so many. Hard to believe it's almost a decade since winning a world series. I hope the Yankees stay patient. So much young talent
Man, there is no one on the planet who hates the Yankees more than me. Hearing you and Easy almost makes me not hate them as much, almost...

We didn't have a team growing up in Florida and being as my Dad liked the Sox and it's where I was born, I was a hardcore Red Sox fan all my life. When the Devil Ray's came around I always joked with my Dad I would root for either the Sox or Ray's depending on who was in better position to beat the Yankees. So my experience with the Yankees was every bit as horrible as yours was great in that time.

They were like the big brother who notices your starting to get stronger so they smack you around. All through the 90's. Then in early 2000's here we are, Pedro, Lowe, Arroyo, Derrick Lowe,Timmy the knuckle, Heathcliffe Slocumb, we were deep on the mound. On the offensive side we were ballin too with Manny and Papi leading that charge (and the traitor who shall not be named). Trot Nixon was playing out of his mind and Kevin Millar was in the prime of his career we looked great going in. Pedro was having a lights out year too.

There we are, ready to really make a run at the Yanks. All season. Back and forth and we gave as good as we got. Thought for sure it was our year to get through those bastards. Especially when in the top of the eighth we extended our lead by like 3 runs or something.

That was it. Pedro was killing it and wanted to complete his game and the wheels fell off. Like WTF fell off. K, we still got OT and Mo can't pitch the entire time... The **** he can't... I actually cried. As soon as Wakefield had that ball leave his hands it was slow motion. It did nothing, no movement and you saw Boone's eyes hungry... It was gut wrenching. I hated them. I really really hated them... Everyone turned on Grady Little but you listen to your account with a 3 run lead, Pedro was a primadonna and the last thing you want is a fussy bitch of a man who might have to take the mound 3 times coming up... Little was fired... I hated the Yankees for that too.

Named my son Grady in part because how well Grady Little did with that team, had he not been in the same division with the Bronx bitches he would be looking at coach of the year for keeping these guys together and focused.

I hate the ****ing Yankees. Nevermind. I don't hate them less anymore. Your stories suck. **** them in their stupid faces. Eat it Yankees, 2004 was straight up magic. Eat it... First team in baseball to blow a 3 game lead. Ha!

Was dating a girl who was from Boston and we watched the first 3 games together... I told her, we cannot watch the rest of the ALCS together, it is clearly bad juju. The Universe will reward us for doing what's needed. I told her, if they come back we're flying up and staying in Tewksbury if they come back and win. We didn't watch any of the next games together and I would talk to her or her dad on the phone.

Game 7 when the Sox went up like 3-4 I told them, it's not enough, we have to be up by 10. They won in the Bronx and for the second time in 2 years I cried about baseball. I drove to my girlfriend's house and we got her mom to get us tickets for a flight and got smashed the rest of the night. Didn't go inside Fenway for the game but watched from Tequila rain across Landsdowne street.

Oh man. I like football and the Bucs won the big dance in '02 but there was something magical about baseball. Ray's look good again. It's tough when both my favorite teams go head to head all the time but I just figure it makes me hate the Yankees more than anyone else in the known universe... I'm okay with that...

Yeah I respect the rivalry. The red Sox got even with us that's for sure after having them against the wall Johnny Damon as well as big papi owned us.

I still remember the Pedro game with Don Zimmer. Lol. I hated that little prick but he was an awesome pitcher.

Everyone hated Pedro. I even did but I sure as hell was happy to watch him head out to the mound. But it was the heart they were missing, that guy who goes out there and gives everything... That was Schilling. He will forever be memorialized in Beantown... Pedro will just be another great pitcher who couldn't carry the team...

How did you guys feel about Damon's betrayal? I wouldn't even speak the guys name for a couple years

Jason Varitek was awesome. I loved that guy, decent catcher and a helluva stick for being a decent catcher. Relatively quiet too. Posada called a better game and he was more clutch so overshadowed Varitek quite a bit.

My wife loves Pedroia. Says she can put him in her pocket. It'd be like putting a sand spur in your pocket

Schilling will never lose stardom there. They might be full of far left Elizabeth Warren's but she almost didn't get elected the first time because she didn't know who Schilling was. They are more baseball then politics. Like it should be... I don't care about athletes knowing anything about politics but my politicians better know something about hometown athletes.
