Yea there is a psycho with a m16 on the plane!!

actually there was probably about 140 more of them on there

It was always funny as a crew member when the cart would hit the barrel of a gun sticking out in the aisle and you would have to tell them to reposition their machine gun

So different than typical passenger service

Military flights are always a lot of fun, cockpit door was always left open for them to talk to the pilots

Re: 737 Crash

Jet Blue used to do a lot of those.

A lot of troop flights went through Bangor international airport. Lots of people would go there and bring goodies, or just thank them.

I'd imagine the flights could be entertaining at times.

Re: 737 Crash

We Stopped in bangor all the time as well as gander. Bangor was unique because there were usually locals and veterans there with treats, food and snacks to give to and thank the troops

Military flying was definitely a unique experience and we always had a lot of fun because those guys would be on the same plane flying halfway around the world and would have three or four different flight crews. The ones I felt sorry for were based out of Hawaii so they flew 3/4 of the way around the world from Hawaii to California to North Carolina to Bangor to Ireland to cypress then to kuwait... I believe they were on that same plane for 36 hours. They don’t get off and stay at a hotel or anything.... they are on the plane the entire time

The military guys obviously are the best passengers because they do what you tell them to and they were always well behaved. I spent many hours playing cards and exchanging great stories with them.

We used to have the troops stand up and do the safety demo, but the most memorable flights were bringing guys home after they’ve been in Iraq for a year or more. As soon as we were wheels up leaving Kuwait the roaring, cheering and clapping was an experience I will never forget for as long as I live.

The most emotional was when we actually landed at their home base and their families were there waiting for them.

It was a ferry flight and it was an engine issue apparently

Different problem than the flight control issues but still another black eye to the new plane

Karma. Boeing is headquartered in Chicago and Chicago is corrupt to the core.

Boeing: "We own it."

Hold off on those stock options...

Re: 737 Crash

It's guaranteed Boeing stocks will recover and when they do there will be people running for the entrance. Even if you bought now and they went down more you will still be money up eventually. Imo

I haven't been watching. Just checked, don't think they ever really took too much of a hit in the scheme of things. Temporary at most. As you mentored they not only are recovering they have basically completely recovered.

Re: 737 Crash

I remember back in the early 2000's American Airlines had a pilot strick. Their stocks tanked. I bought a bunch of shares knowing it was a gamble because they were talking bankruptcy. They came to an agreement I sold and banked about 4 grand within days.

This was where I got the itch. Today I'm not as much a gambler and have all my money in Mutual funds.

Re: 737 Crash

The 727 had a rash of incidents upon its placement into service as well

It was so bad people were calling their travel agencies and canceling trips that were scheduled to be on the 727

Companies forbid their employees from traveling for business on the 727

It was known for a while as the “deadly” 72

After all the fear, emotion, and hype in the media they figured out the problem and the 72 became one of the most successful, profitable and safest airliners in history
