Ha! The wife and I were talking about Stewarts the other day. I never saw a new one. It's like they were all designed to look like they are 40 years old.

Re: 49 Things People From Upstate New York Love

My experience with people from New York is that they tell me never to live there because of the taxes.

I'm from Iowa and I liked upstate New York a lot, although I never did see an Adirondack chair in the Adirondacks. My wife and I liked the Niagra area as well.

I was suprised how natural the Adirondacks was. I figured it would be chock-full of people, but it wasn't.

I was also surprised how reasonable the real estate was. You're looking at the same price for a house in those areas that you would expect to find here.

The people seemed similar as well. Not very snobberish and hard working sorts.

I think we were in Lowville at a wedding. We went up north from CT along the river and then across the Adirondacks to get to the place.
