Re: .45 Carry Gun

I believe the diehards around here would never post a picture of their guns.. The feller that wanted the vault has a wife that sells insurance, she thought it would be cheaper to insure them. Apparently to do that you have to provide a list of serial numbers. He's not having any part of that

Below is my 4th 45-70 gov. I just love hunting with this caliber. This particular rifle is a limited edition 1885 with an octagon barrel.

I found these in my safe. Hats from my grand dads and dads company. Probably 20 years old. I saved a couple for my kid (s)

Name is a combo of their last names, he was partners with my moms dad.

I'll show you a gun most have never heard of. It's gonna take a few minutes to pull it out and take photos, it's in the very back of my safe.

.270 & 7 mag are great rounds...but if you are paying for a guided out West hunt, you may have to be able to reach out & touch 'em...
Yeah, I shot a Weatherby 300 synthetic at a 300 yard range. 300 was nothing for it

Made me look good

Re: .45 Carry Gun

Ok, this gun is known as a swivel breach blackpowder. The barrel actually rotates on a spring. The gun is 100% handmade by a famous gun maker. The barrels were black-smithed by hand. The lighting is terrible because it's taken with my phone.

EDIT: my phone is crashing and says it sent error report to developer. Dam Androids! I'll have to do a shut down.

Here you can see the sights on top and bottom. The swivel action is tight and smooth.

The photos make it tough, but I would guess German or Finn make, prolly close to mid 1800.

Not sure really, it's valued pretty high so that's one reason. The other is because the guy who made it died and it's kind of a sentimental thing. Blackpowders of this nature are very difficult to clean because of the action. It's the only gun I own that's never been shot.
