You paste the paper and book it to relax according to the time as specified. I've always pasted pre-pasted paper.

Always put the paste on the paper. A wall may need to be sealed before papering - usually the case on new drywall.

Blame my mother - she didn't do ladders... Pattern matching on a 2 story stair well with lumpy plaster is a heck of a teacher.

With some of the papers out there now, it's come back in vogue for a few people

We had a couple of Farrow and Ball paper jobs (I absolutely love their papers - pricey, but hey, they're still hand screened). One just an accent wall, 8' by 12', and the other a full 12' by 16' living room, 10' wall height, and textured ceiling paper too (the boss / my 66 year old father did the ceiling himself - my mind boggles that I couldn't find the seams)

Anyway, I'm with the others - paste the paper, regardless.
