Re: Have You Been Hiring More Women?

If a biological woman gender identifies as a "Man", can I still count Shehe? as a female for EOE paper work?

If your "pre-existing" condition is you are waiting on a several hundred thousand dollar sex change series of procedures, Could I be 'forced' to hire/insure you?

The fastest way to improve female wages is to Close our borders to illegal Alien invaders and Deport all the ones here now.

Pst.... and lowering welfare payments to only ONE sex, over funding welfare has kept hundreds of thousands if not millions of single moms out of the work force...

A Rational Nation would aid WORKING families to have kids, NOT the chronically unemployed.

Re: Have You Been Hiring More Women?

Whoa, you guys almost lost me on pages 5-10.. jeez. Mmmeow already. Don't y'all know tnt always has to go against the grain?

I think a woman in construction should expect to do what everyone else does... Every person has their limits and it's important to know them.... But the one quality I hate more than anything is the person who just doesn't want to do it so they use their age or size, sex or whatever as an excuse and they stick the rest of the people with the hard stuff.

I've seen this quality in both sexes.

Sometimes when shingles get delivered to a house, I'll ask the driver if he has time to put them up on the roof so my guys don't have to carry them up the ladder. They usually don't have time but I tell them we will have them unloaded In 2 minutes... If they say yes, I expect everyone there to line up and unload the pallet, I know the girls can't pick a bundle up by themselves, but they better try.. or they can stand there and break the bundles apart and push one side over the edge so the guys can have an easier time getting underneath them.. I don't care if the guys move twice as many as the girls, but the the girls better figure how how to help.

I had this guy work for me for about 2 weeks and this fool wouldn't do ANYTHING. He wouldn't lift a finger to help anybody he wouldn't do anything that remotely looked difficult, if he got tired he would just stop.. and he stopped on me one time we were laying an epoxy floor.. 3000 SQ feet and he quit 200 feet into it cuz he was tired. I had to edge, mix ,squeegee, roll and backroll all by myself, while keeping a wet edge and the product had under 30 min potlife. I was so pissed off when I finished that floor.. I never talked to him again. Plus I'm running around on wet epoxy in cleats, and a big ass respirator trying to move my chip brush, squeegee, extension roller, bucket of product, and a rag I was using around with me but keep it far enough away that I could get a bout 5 feet of floor poured. It was a beat down.

Sometimes **** gets tough. I know it sucks.. but if they won't just do what it takes
to get it done, they can't work for me. Male or female. (But not shemale). Sorry, I don't hire people with identity crisis. Too much drama. Makes workers uncomfortable.
Makes customers uncomfortable. Unless it could fool the average bear... But chicks with d#rks no. Beard and pantyhose no

That would go over well on a job site.

You're a great example of why it's not the identifier that matters, but the willingness to get it done...

There is no way a woman could do it. I was the only one there that could pull them onto the roof alone. There is a reason construction is a male dominated trade

I've got a sister who used to work in the trades with us when we were younger... not much she couldn't do... But then again, long term, she didn't stay in the trades...

Your point is valid, but there are also ways to work smarter... lifts, etc.

Came across this when looking for a lift video and thought it was timely so decided to post it since it was a female using an idea...

Ann Turbyne could have done that 2 at a time by herself.

I agree, the women do have duties that are different than the heavy stuff men do. I have worked with a lot of women and I do my best to accommodate them.

Re: Have You Been Hiring More Women?

My roofer just takes a sheet, rests it on his forearm and pinches the bottom edge with his fingers. Then walks up the ladder.

Scrawny, short guy.

Re: Have You Been Hiring More Women?

I worked with a lady last year that was a real go geter, She would work right beside the guys and do the best she could. She loved to learn and took pride in the work she did. She has a great spot in with a very good company. I on the other hand didn't get along with the sup and went down the road after that job was framed up.

Not sure which came first the "gender pay gap" or the "no such thing as gender". But it's hallarious listening to the same people push both.

It's not against the grain to give your opinion, not to mention, I don't mind going against the grain if it's right. I don't base my opinions on what is popular, PC or trends. I still think it's a politically biased question with no right answer.
