Love the original post photo, NO eye protection, NO long sleeves shirt, no safety certs on Helmet, new, empty apron...AND a dangerous Pony tail.

My Masonry experience is 1-2 % female masons, most in the residential, brick laying end mostly,

There aren't many women that can lay 12-`14" wide CMUs all week long, IMHO.

But I have had 140 pound women out work 200 pound male labors......
I am pretty sure that you need men just as much as women biologically speaking.

And what gender based performance differences would allow you to pay women less, produce more and undercut any male workshop?

Re: Have You Been Hiring More Women?

TNT: That is my statement, overall the average female doesn't produce as much, thus isn't paid as much as the average male in the same job title...
Counter argument:
If women did produce as much as men do, It would be a lot easier to make money with a mostly female work force in all trades....

Giving women 'equal' pay for less work is just another version of Affirmative Action.

Our US Constitution Bars both creating a 'Nobel race" of females, and furthermore bars any attainment of males just because of the their sex as being members of a lower class or formerly discriminating against females.
If women should be paid the same in the work place, why aren't men allowed to be "full time" baby daddies in our welfare Ghettos?

Shouldn't half the stay-at-home-welfare parents be Men?...

That doesn't make any sense. It would take them longer to complete the same job and cost the same or more. So you wouldn't be able to under bid anyone. I can pay a bit more and fit more work in the year.

If women produced as much as men wouldn't the ease of making money be the same? Asking for a friend.

CaliFlat spot maker:
yes, but the payroll of the women's only biz is 67% of the all man shop......
All other things being = there would a MASSIVE bonus to hiring women in most jobs...

P.S there is not, there are behavior reasons the two genders don't "earn" the same...

Life time pay differences need to be examined, only after taking in the offsetting values of raising successfully the Next Generation, the earning power of the PARENTS, together. Any thing else is sophomoric twiddle.

Mostly it is the Very Long term-opposite gender marriage, that improves both spouses chance of successfully producing a children that have kids too....

Equal pay progressives-liberals are in my view, generally ignorant and or massive family haters. IMHO.

Trade specific, and not saying they don't exist, but you don't see too many 50+ women swinging a hammer or doing masonry work...

Must be a reason for that...

How do you come to that number of 67%? And even if it is lower, they are not turning out the same amount of product.

You don't see many 40 yo women, either. If they aren't doing it at 40, they aren't doing it at 50.

It's a bogus number that gets thrown around.

And after 70, virtually none because...

well, dead.

So there's that.

Nah, women live longer than men (usually past 70's) probably because they didn't burn their bodies out in construction...

Make you wonder where the cut-off is where they realize they don't want to be doing it in their 40's or 50's...

Personally, I think there's a lot more involved than we really give it credit for... look at Madrina, and other ladies on this forum... diamonds among the rabble... they'd probably have a better take or insight on why women don't and at what age they no longer want to if they do...

TNT: % true about 20-15 years ago, now true for MDs and banking, women earn more(>100% of men's pay) as teachers aides, nursing....

Average now closer to ~79-81%? In construction women average 90.2%......

WIKI numbers, I didn't confirm any of them.....

Hire one that's really hot, then your girlfriend will insist on doing it for free.

Re: Have You Been Hiring More Women?

Got a call the other day from a guy responding to a help wanted ad.

I gave out my wifes cell #, told him to setup an interview with her. She's the HR and safety manager.

I told my wife to expect the call. A couple days later, she said she has an interview with a woman, not a man.

Turns out we were both right. The guy was dressed in womens clothes, hair, makeup, even the name was female. A quick glance or, hearing the voice, let you know instantly this was a man.

The bad part is he didnt bring a resume. Didnt bring an app. Doesnt have any relevent experience. And took a phone call in the middle of an interview.

Tried to hire one down on Skid Row the other day.

Apparently, the "going rate" has gone up a bit. I couldn't afford her.
