RTA Kitchen Cabinets

Hello, I am new to the forum and do kitchen and bath design/remodeling in the northwest Chicago suburbs. I am doing a kitchen remodel and am researching RTA cabinets. Does anyone know where these RTA cabinets and/or components are actually manufactured? It seems that almost every website that is selling these has basically the same styles which leads me to believe that the cabinet components are coming from the same central manufacturer and are being distributed by many different companies. Has anyone purchased and installed any of these RTA cabinets? I would appreciate hearing about any quality issues. I've never purchased something like kitchen cabinets before from an online source where you can only view photos of the product. Any since most of these online dealers are far away, it's difficult to get a good impression of the quality and finish of the components. Thanks for any comments.

Re: RTA Kitchen Cabinets

You are gonna have to name some manufacturers to help us along.

Why don't you visit the intro section and tell us about yourself and your company. Please fill out your area in your profile so we can know where you are from when you don't mention it. Thanks.

Re: RTA Kitchen Cabinets

RTA cabinets are preassembled cabinets. What that means is they are shipped to the unassembled and they assemble them. My conclusion is that they are from China. Nothing wrong with Chinese products, but... handle with care. If they are not installed properly, they will come apart. When I assemble furniture, cabinets, etc. I always use glue on the seams and dowels for extra strength. I generally use a good quality wood glue like gorillas glue. But think of this. You are about to remodel the part of your home that will/should last you 20+ years. Spend a little more and you will have a better product and it will last longer.

Just my 2 cents.
