Drop Ceiling Ideas For Basement??

i'm looking to have finished basement and need to put in a drop ceiling b/c of wires and plumbing. might turn it into a rental in the near future, but was wondering how it would do for blocking sound from the upstairs? Is there any nice looking tile for a single family home?? don't really want to use the commercial type with a million pinholes on the tiles. thanks for the suggestions..

there must be 3,000 types of tile and quite a few are fire rated.

Re: Drop Ceiling Ideas For Basement??

There are also different sound blocking ratings for tiles. And yes, you can get nicer patterns than the commercial ones. Where are you located? There's a good company I use for ceilings in New Jersey that has a great selection.

You can also insulate above your drop ceiling to deaden sound as well.
