YouTube Video Optimization Input/Help

I just got our new video uploaded to YouTube about a week ago, and I've spent a lot of time learning how to optimize the video, and I don't know what else I can do.

Any experts that could take a look? It would be much apprciated!

In case my share didn't work: SealMasters of KC Video Link

Looks good! If I could critique anything, it would be to tighten up the content and make it a bit shorter. In the 2 minute range if possible.

Re: YouTube Video Optimization Input/Help

Thanks for the input. It was actually designed for a long format commercial channel that a local cable provider broadcasts. They are either 2 or 3 minutes in length. It cost me the same either way, so I'll take 50% more eyeball time!

Does anyone have any success stories for optimizing their videos?

I like it! I think a potential viewers attention could hang till the end. There's enough non typical stuff there in the vid to keep them interested.

Re: YouTube Video Optimization Input/Help

I do appreciate the positive comments. You can post them on YouTube Too . I understand that helps with the rankings.

I was hoping that we could get more info on optimizing. Here's an article that I found and worked my way through. http://www.inc.com/guides/2010/05/se...for-video.html

I ended up using captiontube to take care of my captioning. I've had over 100 views in less than 2 weeks, so I'm guessing I've done something right.

It's easier to get a video on the front page quickly than a new website. Anyone else optimize their videos?

Re: YouTube Video Optimization Input/Help

John, I don't do videos, but one thing that derives me batty when watching them is the audio being out of sync with the video. Fixing that is a major optimization you could do here.

Otherwise, nicley done.

Re: YouTube Video Optimization Input/Help

Hey John,
Looks pretty good to me.
Only suggestion I have is to film in 1080.
But then it starts to get pretty expensive.
Check out the quality of our video.
http://youtu.be/JvgtpDjXqSg?hd=1

oh! And do you mind if I ask exactly how you embeded the video into your comment!?
I only seem to be able to post the link to mine...
I cant figure out how to get the actual video in there..

Re: YouTube Video Optimization Input/Help

Thanks Precision-

I was told this would be shot in HD, and assumed 1080, since it was for a television commercial, but guess I was wrong!

Here's the post that explains how to do it:

https://www.contractortalk.com/f101/y...script-110706/

It took me a couple tries, but the edit button will make it perfect-good luck.

Awesome!! Thanks jhutch! Appreciate it.
And it could very well be that whoever filmed the video did film it in HD but perhaps werent very familiar with the rendering process when it came to the editing...which could have drastically changed the video quality. Just a thought.

Thanks in advance

I'm assuming you want to rank your video for the keywords :

Concrete sealing kansas city (KC), so when people search they get your video in the results.

Your "video" optimization is good on the actual keyword setup and links on your page.

Here are the things you need to do to get it ranked:

1.) Get Website Links to it.
2.) Integrate it with your google places account
3.) Get it on your website
4.) Get it posted in your FB page

Google video runs of the same principles as the google algorith. More links with keywords = higher search result rating.

So if I were to optimize / promote your video I would do the following:

1.) Setup a tubemogul account: this allows you to upload your video on 1 website and have it dispursed to 15 top video sites.

2.) Start embedding it with related sites / link buidling it. (there are so many methods to this but its the most important part). Example: Go to yahoo answers and write a question - "who's a good concreate company in Kansas city, then reply with your video link to it."

3.) Run a google video ads targeted promotion for your zip.

Hope this helps -

-Pete

Re: YouTube Video Optimization Input/Help

Thank you Pete!

That's more of the info that I'd been looking for.

I already did 1-4 and had trouble uploading to tubemogul, due to the size of my video. I'll try again, but it basically said that it was too large. I could always use more links however.

I will promote the video as the season gets a little closer.

Thank you very much Pete!!!

I just watched your video, I love that kind of coating on a garage floor!

Someday I hope to have a "show car garage" with some vintage muscle cars in it

Re: YouTube Video Optimization Input/Help

The help has really seemed to work! I'm running about 90 views a month already and trending upward. I'm just off first page on google now, 1st on the 2nd page. With the way things are going my video should be first page in the next few weeks.

Not bad since this has been optimized for local, and my season hasn't really even started yet.

Thanks for the help!

Re: YouTube Video Optimization Input/Help

I have recently been looking into this as well. From the info I have gather so far I would suggest; making sure you add your location to the video, add a title related to the search terms you are targeting, and get links for it. A way to start getting some of those right now would be to add it to your signature on this site.

Re: YouTube Video Optimization Input/Help

Absolutely! You'll want to put your city in for optimization.

Re: YouTube Video Optimization Input/Help

RhodesHardwood is right. Add in your location to the youtube video.

Also add some tags that have your keyword+city. If possible link to it from your blog, twitter, facebook and other sites.
