Very seldom do I see a drive crash where data can't be recovered at all.
Try recovering from a crashed SSD.

My computer tried to update and then something went haywire. I cannot get into windows 10 as it is stuck in Automatic Repair "Loop"

It shows blue screen and tries to fix itself to no avail and will not let me recover or restart to safe mode. There is a good possibility all my data is lost, small chance it may be recovered but back up everything NOW so you don't lose anything.

I took mine to a compute repair guy to try to recover data, Quickbooks, documents and photos. Won't know till a couple days whether or not it is a total loss.

Microsoft was less than helpful and basically said tough luck, sorry.
I hope you realize that this problem probably had nothing to do with upgrading to Windows 10.

Or a bad SD card. I know it's not a drive, but same issue. I have an SD card that has, or had, some really cool time lapse video from a deck that we are working on. Can't even get a computer to recognize it. Trying to figure out a way to recover the data.

I think they're up to something with 10 otherwise why would they be hounding everyone with Windows to do a free upgrade? There must be something in 10 that gives them more of an advantage.

They can see if you're stealing other software.

I have used software to pull corrupt files from SD cards. I think Sandisk supply it for free. You may not get every picture of the time lapse back but you may get enough.

I can't get anything to even see the drive. Something is seriously wrong with the card. When I insert the card and then open "my computer" it just hangs there. As soon as I pull the card "my computer" opens up. Same thing with any recovery software I have tried.

Inner is right. For now, I am screwed.

Really, how interesting. I think it's designed to data mine information from the user in some way that will make them money.

It is an incompatible driver, does not always happen but when it does it is a pain.

Just because windows doesn't assign a drive letter doesn't mean it can't be seen.

Access data can access the drive at the physical level not logical and make a sector by sector copy of it.

Re: Windows 10 Crash

Hmm you could use a Linux bootable CD and use dd to make a copy of the physical drive then pop the dd image into access data
