In Van Printing

I have been getting a lot of commercial small jobs lately. They require me to print off a work order and have it signed.
I have always just returned to my office and printed it out.

I am thinking about mounting a printer in the truck. I have ordered a 400amp inverter. just need to pick the best printer. So my question is what are you guys using for printers.

Re: In Van Printing

Do they actually need a physical copy? I've been looking into some of the online/app signature services like CudaSign or DocuSign to solve the same problem as you.

Re: In Van Printing

They actually make mobile printers that are battery powered. This would be better than doing the inverter thing because the mobile printer is designed to be shock resistant.

^^^Best idea if possible. Proprietary software may or may not allow it.

Otherwise the best printer is going to be the cheapest printer from Costco. Chances are it is going to break! Laser is the way to go so it doesn't smudge. HP makes the most tested truck printers out there. Can't recommend a model number at this time though.

I have been looking at HP 100 that sounded like might be a good one.

A few fellow contractors I know use CudaSign and quite like it, especially for signing contracts on the small jobs and change orders. Saves a trip.

Glad you were able to save a few bucks and put it to better things...like more tools
