Re: Trying New Browser

Early report: working well. CT loads fast too. Looks and behaves same as Chrome.

PS, Brave can use any of the extensions from the Chrome Store. Using a volume booster extension, no problem there.

Do not know how the Android version works, but they have one.

PPS: Look at how many instances in Task Manager each browser has going - just to load 2 web pages. That is what sucks up and fragments memory....

Duckduckgo is a search engine, isn't it? Or did I not realize that it also has a browser available?

Those are like "sandboxes" Where each item is separated out in case it crashes it won't take everything down with it.

Re: Trying New Browser

Since am having good success with Brave on the laptop, decided to try it on iPhone. Went to App Store, Apple chose not to return it in search results.

OK, try iTunes - Brave shows up on Google search as an iTune download. Nope, Apple chose not to show it there either.

Alright, Plan C - open Safari, go directly to Brave web site and download from there. Nope - got to update to iOS 12.3.

New version of iOS now tells me that certain features won't be available u til I set up a passcode, agree to certain things, etc.

So, iPhone and me, we may be headed for a divorce in a couple of years.

Every single frickin web entity wants to pimp me, and each of them wants to sabotage'/exclude the others.

Just like, you know, American Politics.

smh

Re: Trying New Browser

Happy to report Brave installed without issue. Below is the default screen. When I have more time, I'll explore customizing it.

Re: Trying New Browser

Brave vs Chrome so far:

As of this AM, just 2 sites have complained I'm using an ad blocker when running Brave, That's it.

Brave does not manage/cache video streams as well as Chrome. Get stuttering on the web streaming site I'm using when opening an additional web page.

Facebook: Inline ads - Chrome - some are really audacious - I now get the exact items I viewed on ebay for instance. And I mean, the exact item, including the associated image.

That kind of privacy invasion does p*ss me off.

Brave does not do this, so that pleases me.
