I always but the QB desktop. I do bidding on the weekends normally and when I get back to my office I send out proposals all at once. Same with contracts all done on my desktop.

I have sued both and I prefer the online version. they both take some getting used to though.

I like the online ease of use, if I am in a bind and I only have my little surface type computer I just go online and bust a cap in the invoice's proverbial azz.

Re: QB Online Vs Desktop

I'll try to make the first post without typos.

I use QB online. It is pretty sweet to have it on my phone, or on my laptop which I bring with me in the van. All the data is automatically synced.

Re: QB Online Vs Desktop

I've only used the desktop version. I do use the Joist app. I can type things up on my desktop, but I like the app.
I can change an estimate to an invoice on my phone. Email it to the customer, right then. Alot of customers like this. I've also had them pay me, right when we are done, or before. I can get on my phone and email them a paid in full invoice, right then. They like it, I like the fact it's done and I don't have to do it later.

I would assume Quickbooks online would be very similar.
