Re: New Website!!

I think it's gonna come out. I see no need in it as I am a local company and won't ever have a high count.

Hey Mike it looks good. One thing i would suggest is to have a graphic artist redo your header graphic. It looks pixelated/fuzzy on my computer. Everything else looks top notch.

Exactly...and you don't want potential customers judging the worth of your company based on the amount of people who have viewed your website. Consumers tend to look at the counters as a marker of just how big you are, and obviously bigger is better in their eyes.

Re: New Website!!

First it looks good, As others said clean up the left hand header graphic. the graphic needs to be crisp clean and have a quality appearance. The appearance of your page is the first impression. To sell quality, you need to look quality. Also the copy "your first choice when your . . . ." the customer is not looking for someone that stands out per se. They are looking for the reasons you stand out. "when you are looking for a trained, licensed, experienced . . . pressure washer. or looking for top quality results." or "we pride ourselves on our professionalism and high quality work, from out trained, uniformed personell, to our . . . . ."

I like bullet points
-experienced,trained technicians
-extensive experience in
-fully insured, licensed,bonded

You need to think of what the customers main concerns are. My guess is (based on my customers) is they are thinking "is this going to be some yahoo that is going to $#@$ up my house. or some scumbag going to rip me off. I figure you have under 30 secs. to convince them NO

Bold some things out perhaps, like "Finding a pressure contractor" this makes the paragraph easier to read. Also I think the center justification is a bit 'floaty'
Think easy to read- think to the point. The long timeclassic bible for writers of everything has a whole section on getting right to the point.

and lastly
Do not let perfect be the enemy of good enough
you can always go in and touch things up as time allows

And if you have even 1% of the mispellings that I do in this post you are in trouble.

Re: New Website!!

Thanks Asbestos.

I'm working on that header. It is already at 1200 dpi but just doesn't scale up or down clear. I'll get it figured out. I am constantly working on it... I need to line up some of the pages to better match the rest.

Anyhow, good points, I will work on it more.

Re: New Website!!

I am not much of an expert in web graphics but I think 1200dpi is way more then you need I think it is around half that that is recommended. google it and see what is recomended. sometimes files just have weird stuff in them, the whole web graphics area is sort of a black art

Re: New Website!!

If you send me your images I will have a look at see if I can improve the quality of your logo.

The only major comment that I have:

Do you want google, yahoo, ask ect ect to index you website?

The reason I say this is because you have added metatags on EVERYPAGE which is good but google ect also take a copy of all the text on your website and turn these into keywords. Google ect also view any links that you have on your website, however google ect will only view links if they are accompanied with text (not pictures).

This means that the links you have on the top of your page will not be viewed as these are images with a rollover. My suggestions is to add a text string at the bottom of your webpage which is linked to each page.

For an example on this look at my website www enka co uk
