Microsoft WIN10 May 2020 Update (v2004)

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

I'm taking the plunge and doing this update now.

I may be checking back in from my iPhone if I brick my win box

Re: Microsoft WIN10 May 2020 Update (v2004)

So.......things that are broken.

I use an Ethernet connection; no changes.
  • MS Outlook
  • MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc)
  • Spotify app for windows

All the above now pop up a banner saying I have no internet connection even though I DO have a connection because here I am using FireFox.

I've searched until I'm done. No solutions. (I especially find it moronic for one of the "solutions" to be a clean windows install - really?)

Windows has once again famously broken an update.......over paid clowns.

Beware.

I'll be on Win7 until this machine dies.

I find Windows 10 to be vastly better in ALMOST all categories than 7.

I also use up to date programs with it.

Andy.

Re: Microsoft WIN10 May 2020 Update (v2004)

I couldn't agree more with Andy, Win10 is a much better operating system than anything that was out in the past... run smoothly, compatible with pretty much everything, much faster without any issues. If you have an older PC or Laptop Win10 is a much smaller install and you will get more storage room on your existing PC or laptop.
If you doing an upgrade do it before you go to bed because the update will take 5+ hours.

Re: Microsoft WIN10 May 2020 Update (v2004)

If the PC came with Win10 that's one thing. Upgrading it from another OS is a whole other ball of wax. I don't like how it spies on you. I don't like how it updates without warning sometimes. I've heard of people going to do presentations and the system goes into an update and ruins all chances of the presentation. I don't like that you don't actually own it, you basically lease it.
