Yeah. We had a couple slow weeks with the weather. Down in the Outer Banks right now working on a clients beach house. Major overtime. Making up for the past couple slow weeks.

Yup. We wouldn't do it for just anybody. She has been a fantastic client. We are working 12-14 hour days this week just to get as much done as we can while we are down here.

The wives were convinced to let us go when she offered us all to have a week at the beach during the summer at her house for free.

I'm just trying to figure out what I need.
Have you done anything about the office you wanted to build?

Luckily the fire place only gets used about 5 times a year.

I love that case and almost bought it until I saw the price...that's why I went with their MAF...half the cost at 400 with the 1200w gold PS included. Nice build...I'm going to keep my case and go with maxing out the ram and trying a ram drive out with a power backup and sync it to an ssd just in case. Should make video editing a little faster..lol... I have about 10 TB now and they're pretty much full. I added a new 3TB esata drive but it's a bandaid. I need more room. I run a plex server off of it too and all my family have individual usernames and passwords so they treat it like a Netflix server. I have 150 mb up and down connection so they can watch it in bluray quality if they want. I don't even notice a slowdown when I'm using it but it's getting old and the 6 cores are too slow for video editing. It holds about 400 hi Def movies and 300 sd.

It's funny you talk about being a geek and doing construction...I've been hearing that crap for years...now I'm happy I never did the switch considering the average person will just buy a new one for 300 these days. Hell my video card cost more than that..lol.

The case got so much room inside its crazy. I'm looking at adding another 10tb to my storage at some point. Might go for a couple of the 5TB drives as I mirror my backups.

Plex is awesome. I don't really use it unless I'm away from the house but when i do it works flawlessly. I only got 50mb connection but I can't stream at full render quality. It ain't as good as a bluray sound and pic quality but I'm only streaming to budget TV's and iPads so don't notice the difference in them.

Even with the reduction in quality, the content delivery makes it worth it. Same as you, If I'm feeding tablets or everyday TVs, you don't really notice or really care about the difference. I love Plex.

The biggest thing is the sound DTS HD Master Audio sounds so much better than Dolby digital is crazy. It sounds like someone has turned on a muffle equalizer and there's hardly any definition to the sound then when you put HD audio on its a shock.

I'm a plex man aswell, I built a server just for plex and for remote monitoring of some networks I service. It sleeps in the rack in the basement, loaded with a raid for storage.

My HTPC is pretty snappy, i7-4790k, gtx 960, 16 gig ram, two WD Blacks in a raid.
