Well, when you say it like that, it's not at all interesting. Which it turns out, is exactly true.

And: the reason I did this is - I honest to God couldn't stand the thought of driving over an hour to the Apple store in a mall named Somerset Collection, and waiting for another 1.5 hours while someone named Sheldon in tight pants swishes around doing that thing all the Apple employees are trained to do.
The SE was my favorite phone. Small enough that it fits in your pocket easily and you can touch any part of the screen with one hand. I was hoping they would come out with an SE2 that was rumored so I could keep my properly sized phone but have a new processor. Once it became clear that wasn't happening I got an iphone8. Everything about the 8 is better than the SE except the size. But people seem to love giant phones now.

It's been a couple of months now, and just upgraded to ios 12.3.1. Very well behaved.

Seriously, if I could not have bought a new SE or equivalent, I would have gone back to a flip phone.

Re: Have We Done Phones?

When did they quit being phones and turn into hand held computers you can make a phone call with?

The updates seem like monthly and eat up gigs so I refuse to pay big $$ for something that's outdated and out of room in a year or two. Plus the are a nuisance to baby and carry around.

I try to pick em with a good battery life and enough storage. My current is a Motorola G6. Moto's Z line is the top of the line for Motorola but at $4-500 it's not worth it to me

I personally think....the amount of "the world" at your fingertips is cheap.

I don't have a landline...I use a smart phone only.

This thing has become pretty handy.

Big difference between 6" screen and 30" screen. Search results may be different on mobile too IDK. It's convenient yes but I don't use that often. Talk and text is about it. Personal data on phone is not safe IMO. So no bank apps none of that stuff

I read where when Googie went down the other day people were locked out of their "smart homes"

I'll keep it simple. I don't like that android is tight linked to my google account

I am also rocking with the Moto G6. For $150, it has met all my phone needs perfectly.

I get it, but the structure is so much different now with phones/carriers. I don't have any line contracts anymore. I think I have two devices that have payments on them, but you can pay them off in full at any time.

If a new phone is $999 you can either pay $999+tax and upgrade fee on day one or you can pay the tax on $999 +upgrade fee on day one and then $999 with 0% interest over 24 months. Any time during that period you could pay off the device in full. So, for me, there's really no difference. When that monthly plan first came out you still had the ability to buy subsidized devices. So for someone who couldn't drop $300 up front for a $699 iphone, it "made sense" () for them to pay $30/month for 24 months even though they ended up losing the advantage of the subsidy. Now that you're paying the same amount either way either I take an interest free loan from VZW or effectively I'm just tying up my money with them when I don't have to.

This is true. Here TracFone uses 3 different towers and has the best reception.

Yup Moto G6 from Costco for 150$, they were clearing them out for the Moto G7 to come in. The Moto G6 is all I need and is smarter that i am I don't use the Fone a lot and the TrackFone service works fine for me.
