Gmail And Google Apps

Can you combine these 2 accounts?

(Legend:
GM = Gmail
GV = Google Voice
GA = Google Apps)

I've had a GM account which contains all of my business contacts. GV integrates nicely. Now I'd like to start using GA for the business. I looked and don't see a way to import my GM contacts to the GA account?

Are they really separate? What's the point of having all things Google if they don't integrate? I can log in to the GA account direct from within GM but that's where the marriage seems to end.

I wouldn't honestly care if the two had to be separate but I need the capabilities of both on my phone; which I cannot do now. I can only have 1 calendar. That's fine as I can create sub-calendars to keep things organized but I cannot have 2 totally separate calendars running. However, I don't see a feasible way to use a personal Gmail account and a business Google Apps together.

Am I missing something?

@OP - I can not help with all that you have posted, but you can have multiple calenders with Gmail. I have three. One is private, one is shared, and the other is shared, but with limited people. All three sync to my iPhone.

What kind of device are you trying to pair these together on?

Calendar is not an issue.

Re: Gmail And Google Apps

How about backing up and simply asking who is using Google Apps...

Re: Gmail And Google Apps

To preserve contact groups, each group needs to be migrated individually.
  1. On GMail contacts, use the Export option to export each group in Google’s CSV format. Then export one more CSV of “Everyone (All Contacts)”
  2. On Google Apps contacts:
    1. Use the Import option to import the CSV of Everyone, leaving the “Add these imported contacts to: ” option unchecked.
    2. Then use the Import option to import each group in turn, checking the “Add these imported contacts to: New Group… ” option, and enter the name of the group.

Re: Gmail And Google Apps

Thanks Brett but I do know how to export/import. The question then becomes how to keep them synced. You now have 2 separate contact lists.

Re: Gmail And Google Apps

The easiest way is to associate your gmail account with your Apps account through your google settings

Re: Gmail And Google Apps

Apparently there is a glitch with some Galaxy S phones when it comes to adding multiple Google accounts to a phone.

So, it can be done. However, you might have an issue getting it done.

Don't ask me why this works but it does; on the phone, go to the youtube app. Log out of the current Google account. Now log back in with the Apps account info. Bingo, you now have a Google Apps account on your phone.

I then exported my Gmail business contacts and then imported them to my Google Apps contact list. Sync all accounts on your phone.

Done!
