Computer Speedup Trick

Just finished trying this on both an Intel and an AMD machine.

It works.

I'll check it later. Reminds me of enabling disabled on board cache, possibly.

I suspect STG is either mining bitcoin or trying to solve Einstein's universal theory. (Am I right?)

You can double your truck MPG and HP with a similar method.

Looks like an artifact of the benchmark he's using. CPU cores were correctly reported as 8 with 16 threads.

The note on YouTube says it's a joke.

Re: Computer Speedup Trick

Went to the bootstrap and advanced and my 8 core chip shows it has 8 cores, not 16 and they are all enabled. So no joy.

My calendar is minutes away from April 1st,......

Ask your PC guys about installing a SSD, ( Solid State Drive) by cloning your slower Hard rotary Drive, Will cut wait times by ~50% or more.

I like ssd drive speeds but they have a higher failed rate. I really need to get on cloud other that Google drive. any suggestions?

Yup. I was going to wait until 4-1 to post this, but knew I wouldn't remember.

The latest schitz is M.2 NVMe SSD. About the size of a stick of gum.

Apple iCloud.

SSD durability is OK. And yet you make the important point: data backup should be ongoing and continuous.

https://www.zdnet.com/article/ssd-re...es-experience/

KEY CONCLUSIONS
Ignore Uncorrectable Bit Error Rate (UBER) specs. A meaningless number.
Good news: Raw Bit Error Rate (RBER) increases slower than expected from wearout and is not correlated with UBER or other failures.

High-end SLC drives are no more reliable that MLC drives.

Bad news: SSDs fail at a lower rate than disks, but UBER rate is higher (see below for what this means).

SSD age, not usage, affects reliability.

Bad blocks in new SSDs are common, and drives with a large number of bad blocks are much more likely to lose hundreds of other blocks, most likely due to die or chip failure.

30-80 percent of SSDs develop at least one bad block and 2-7 percent develop at least one bad chip in the first four years of deployment.

I run 2 of those in my laptop. I have a 256 and a 512GB. It came with the 256GB and that got full so I picked up the next size. They're still much more expensive than a spinner or a SATA ssd but they are 4x the speed of a SATA ssd.

Both

It's $20 cheaper than what I paid for it now.

Re: Computer Speedup Trick

That kid has a whole bunch of videos doing this and that for "2x, 4x, etc...for free". B.s. or not (he says that one is b.s.) , it could be a promising way to cash in on youtube views and $$.
