Project Scheduling Software

Any use a scheduling software to help run jobs? I am looking into a few different software programs and wondering if anyone uses one now that is cost effective and efficient. We are a smaller company 2-5 employees but need some help with efficiency and scheduling.

You could give Hubplanner (not affiliated) a try. But it is fairly basic. I guess it depends on what you need.

Smartsheet is the best in my opinion. Easy to use and cheap. Microsoft project is not a good software, hard to use and even worse to update.

Oh yeah, the scheduling module within my Buildertrend software is pretty good too but not as nice as Smartsheet.

Re: Project Scheduling Software

imo the most efficient way is the old manual system - a large whiteboard with post it notes you can move about
If you want something mobile, Ive taken the old manual system and brought it into the computer age

I use a surface pro 3 and screen shot 1 month calendar into one note i then use the pen to write in whats got to be done and who's doing what, press a button on the pen to erase when things change, its working out quite well
This syncs to my laptop and phone with the one note app

Ive tried a few different programs but they all take too much upkeep to keep them unto date so when I'm busy and need them most it does not get done

Looks like awesome manpower management software but not geared towards project scheduling. A couple of my subs might benefit from kickserv, Im gonna show it to them.

Re: Project Scheduling Software

GanttMan- it is a very simple gantt based program. A little frustrating dealing with limitations. Works integrally with dropbox. Works with my pc, tablet, and phone, so I can keep a schedule updated no matter what I'm carrying.

Unfortunately, it makes me do a lot of scheduling work. Fortunately, I prefer that in order to quickly understand alternative scheduling options
