My Portable Restroom Supplier Is S!!&$/? On Me!

I'm trying to figure out if I'm dumb or my restroom supplier is very smart. Please let me explain the way they bill. They don't invoice. They send a statement for each unit. You pay upon delivery for 2 months, then an adjusted month, then monthly till completion of service. If you call early, for pick up, the send a credit statement for that unit. I am very busy after Sandy and have 8 units rented. In my new statements, I noticed I was double billed for one unit last month. I called and said I thought their was a mistake. They faxed some paperwork today, which was even more confusing. I called back, again, and talked to a different rep. One of the faxed papers had a total that was $35 dollars less than the total of the statements they mailed me for the month. I told the girl that it was wrong and was less than the total of the bills. She said I had a credit of $35 and it was taken off their total. I told her I would have sent my greater total!! She said they sent the credit and it was MY responsibility to take it off the total! Every other supplier applies credits to the invoice, even credit cards! THAT'S THE FIRST CREDIT I ACTUALLY RECIEVED IN 15 YEARS OF DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY!!

4-$35.00 credits a year(avg) for 15 years is $2,100.00

I called 3 of my friends, that use this company, and they also have never applied the credits! I'm back on the phone in the morning!!!

Sorry if this was too long. I hope it is understandable.

Thats strange they want You to do the math. I bet they do it that way because most contractors are to busy to deal with the book work. They just want to build. Thgis way they are making extra coin without anyone knowing about it. Shady.

All the portable restroom companies I've ever used as well as most dumpster companies have confusing billing systems.

The bill never says 31 day charge = $99. It will have about a half dozen additions and subtractions that equal some other amount that will be credited when they pick up the biffy. I think they do this on purpose so they can sneak extra charges in on your bill.

I think the OP should find another company that is more honest and doesn't try to rip him off.

Good point Tom.

I would go to their office and discuss it with the owner if it really bothers you. Otherwise if they drop off/pick up on time and clean/stock paper in it regularly then maybe they are worth the extra 35 bucks. Does seem fishy that a problem was brought up and you didn't receive more immediate attention.

Hmmm...seems that your dumpster company and my electrician's secretary went to the same seminar...

I've tried wrapping my head around her way of billing and it makes my brain feel like it's doing a tumble inside my skull.

So I keep a running spreadsheet on the side for contracted work + extras minus any deducts and pay him regularly keeping a five hundred dollar buffer in my favor.

Re: My Portable Restroom Supplier Is S!!&$/? On Me!

Small world Tom.

My contact for the rest room supplier got back to me yesterday. She reviewed my account for the last 10 years and found I have not taken any credits. She stated she found a few hundred dollars, owed to me.

She invited me to come to their office and meet with her and the president of the company. She apologized, and said she was going to look into her billing to see how she could make it more clear. She also lowered my monthly rate.

I'm as satisfied as I'm going to get for now.
