Best Contracting Business While Studying? (Part Time Business Ideas)

Hi,

I'm a carpenter by trade and have been doing remodelling work mainly, but ive decided to do a construction management degree to help with my chances of getting licensed in my state (currently i dont need one - i work under my old mans licence).

Anyway I cant seem to find anything on google
- im wondering what a good part time contracting business would be to start. So far I have these

Water proofing
Concreting
Painting

thanks

You've got a number of threads going already. A sign that you are serious would be to stick with one thread.

As an answer to your question though, painting would be the only one of those I would consider part time.

The others take time and are usually part of another trades schedule.

Waterproofing is definetly not a part time gig. Unless your definition is way different than mine.

If it is the same as mine, then you would be an idiot to try and do it part time.

Other choices would be handyman work. Repair doors or windows, fix a loose step, etc.

All while being liscensed and insured of course. Part time doesnt mea. the liability is only part time.

I never understand guys who think this can be a part time gig. Unless it is really small time repairs.

I barely have enough time to do it full time. When I'm not on the job, I should be, and when I can't be, I am thinking about how I should be on another one, or doing a bid, or doing a service call, or...

I did work for a guy that was a fire chief and he'd build homes and even big commercial jobs.
