With all these contractors is there money for anyone to actually do any work? And what kind of GC gives 50% to a sub that's going to do a runner, aka new sub?

hahahaha, sounds like a circus! I would definitely run from this one... communication is numero uno and there is no way things are going to go through that many hands and not get screwy. Be weary of this GC as well if he is allowing this sort of thing to happen. Sure he is getting high dollar jobs, but you can too if you put in the time to figure it out.

Oh and a down payment is a must. What if you did the job and they didn't pay you? How are you going to pay your men? Protect your men, get a deposit.
