Stupid Customers

I just got done putting this nightmare of a customer's roof on. And she blasted me on Facebook calling me a their saying I stole her materials.

1st off wtf is she going to do with a 1/4 box of coil nails and half roll of felt?

Now she won't pay me. She says she needs to see my receipts for what I bought.

I told her to piss off its written on her scope how big her roof is and that's how much material I used and that's what she got charged for.

Then she said she saw that we were drinking on the job. I was like you mean you went thru our trash and found the beer can that I found and thru away that was under that pile of **** i had to move out of the way behind your shed to put your siding up?

How do I explain to stupid people why everything I bring to the job is not theirs?

I told her we order extra in case we need them so we don't have to stop work and go to the store to get more and she was like well you told me you don't buy materials for the customers house with your money thats why I gave you a deposit. So if u bought them with my money there mine.

I said the roof is 32.25 squares I buy 33 squares. I can't buy just a quarter of a bundle of half a box of flashing. You only get charged for what goes on your roof. These are not your materials.

She still doesn't get it and she is steady talking **** on FB. Like I care about that.. ooo it's really going to hurt me when your profile is private and she only has 60 friends. But still.

Re: Stupid Customers

Why do people think their project is the only one the contractor has ever done?

Don't ya think a phxxing roofer might have some coil nails laying around?

PhxxMeSilly, some people are stupid. Hopefully she didn't breed.

Maybe compulsory sterilization wasn't such a bad idea. Just base it on common sense instead of race.

Re: Stupid Customers

I never tell people how much material the job takes. All the material belongs to me. And the are being sold a completed job. It is also why I don't leave material sitting out.

Re: Stupid Customers

The material she paid for is installed. That's how these jobs work and have always worked. Usually if there is a few bundles left over you'd leave them one in case there is a need for replacement down the line. Felt paper, nails... no. Those are expendables. The nails get bought in cases of many many coils. So if the job requires one coil of nails the client is entitled to the other 11 coils because they came 12 to a case?

This is why contracts are 20 pages long for a simple roof job.

Re: Stupid Customers

Simple. The materials I bought for your house are on your house.

They

Are

On

Your

House.

You have your quote, that's what I charged. I could have ordered 30000 bundles and 300 boxes of nails. You still only get charged for what was put on your roof, the rest I paid for and is mine

You should probably think seriously about giving her some gasoline.

Certainly you filled up when you looked at the job or were working in it.

Re: Stupid Customers

She just doesn't get it. I'm not going to file a lien I'm taking her to court instead. In my paperwork for the judge, I wrote down every infraction she claims I made and justified it with an answer and pictures. I'm almost done with it.. I'm going to post it as soon as I'm finished to see what yal think. Advice is welcomed.

When my guys finish a job if I'm not there they stack up all the extra materials on the driveway for me. And this particular job there was nothing left on the driveway and I was very curious as to what happened to all of it but I just figured they took it with them... So I had to go get more coil nails or felt more drip edge and bring it to the job site to finish off her shed in the back.... the last day we were there she brings me out two rolls of nails. And said hey do you need these? I said yeah where did you find those and she said they left him here in a box I took them inside so it didn't get ruined.. I said well thanks, I was looking for that stuff because we need it for the shed. How many more do you have? And she said "a whole box". I said "can you bring them out? I had to bring more because I didn't know what happened to that stuff."

Then her boyfriend came out and starting putting bundles of shingles in the shed. I said whoa what are you doing? He said I'm just following orders and she came right behind him and said I'm putting my materials up. I was like ok so do u want the materials in the shed or on the roof? Because we aren't done yet. ??

Re: Stupid Customers

Probably need to add something like “all uninstalled materials property of contractor” to the contract.

You paid for a new roof and you got a new roof. Had I asked for more money to buy more product you would tell me to go pound sand right!!!
Ok so there you have it!!!!

"All material is property of contractor until installed." to me would be better wording.

I had a customer try and pull that on me once . I said nope because I buy in full boxes and sometimes there is extra, never said another word about it.

You're just an evil capitalist greedy business, 'man ' . Taking advantage of the down trodden hard working masses. Any thought to the contrary shakes up their world view and they get extra phukin wild shades of stupid.

Good luck, enjoy

I think her boyfriend knows she's off base, but doesn't want to get into it. I'm pretty sure he's walking around with her male junk, no telling what she'd decide to do with it

Yep spot on! See it all the time.

Might work on lots of men (me absolutely not included since I don't put up with that crap) but I have a feeling it won't work well with Madrina from what I've seen here at CT.

I hope she puts her in her place!

Re: Stupid Customers

Omg. So this lady is such a nightmare! She's like a Chihuahua I want to kick across the yard. Hard. Last night she was texting me AGAIN and again she was totally off base. But you can't reason with stupid people can you? They want to be right.. even if they are wrong so they just keep twisting things around.

I'm about to say to hell with the money and go rip the frecking roof off of her house.

But that is something you can't do once the shingles are on the house. Laws that protect dishonest and stupid people you know.
