Scaffold From Rooftop To Ladder

First of all, I follow the roofing trade because I operate a Christmas Light Installation company. While the two trades seem quite unrelated, I've learned a lot from roofers on how to safely maneuver rooftops.

To that end, I've come across several houses like this:

It's your typical two story house with porch. (*Edit For some reason, most of the houses don't have the window above the garage, or if they do, it's a lot smaller, so there's a place to safely put a extension ladder with standoff) It's a breeze to decorate the roofline of the first story from a ladder. And it's possible to do the second story, but time consuming. I sometimes opt for a boom lift, but that can get expensive (and a bit overkill sometimes).

So finally, my question is, has anyone used a ReechCraft Bronco scaffold http://www.reechcraft.com/Bronco/ on the porch roof while having the other end of the walkboard supported by an extension ladder with ladder jack. It seems getting the proper levelness would be tricky, among other safety issues. But I thought I'd throw it out there for thoughts and input. Thanks!

Re: Scaffold From Rooftop To Ladder

While most of my staging is a little higher up the roof still, I have worked around those before, and the guys swear by them.......I would think that you could find a 'sweet' spot where it was at least very close to the level of the ladder jack........I'd say go for it.....BTW, how long is your season? If that is all you do, I am making a career change tomorrow........

Re: Scaffold From Rooftop To Ladder

Tom, I do own a set of Bronco's and it is a very nice product.
I would just appreciate it, if someone has a tool or piece of equipment they think would be useful they could find a better way to market there product without giving me some BS story and try to trick someone to there website.
