Re: Marketing Roofers

When I first started out, I was marketing myself to homeowners in and around my neighborhood. It wasn't easy but you can slowly build your business doing simple things like making sure you're active on your social networking sites.

Re: Marketing Roofers

To stand out against other roofers you need to do something others don't do. Usually best way to do that is to segment the market down to a sub-market. For example, maybe you focus on steep pitch roofs. Create an advantage for that sub-market and go after it. You will increase your win ratio by doing that. Good luck.

I offer seasonal discounts as well as referral discounts. So if you work with me and refer someone who also works with me, you will get a discount on future work. I take a small loss but end up making up for it through word of mouth advertisements.

Re: Marketing Roofers

Maybe not the best for actual marketing but I always focus on quality. We always have one of the two owners, myself being one, on site to ensure quality. Always looking for repeat and referral customers.

Re: Marketing Roofers

Specialize in something! Something like "We do STEEL roofs!" sets you on a different level. One of my suppliers was talking to me last summer and said it's almost that simple right now...his quote was, "Tell people you'll do steel roofs, it's the current nitche that sells. If you're just marketing shingles, you're competing with every guy with a rusted out pickup truck and a ladder, but those guys (generally speaking) won't do a full hidden fastener standing seam steel roof, they do shingles. Metal guys can all do shingle roofs, but not all shingle guys can/will do steel. Set yourself apart and get the better jobs, leave the crap to the guy with a rusted out F150"

Re: Marketing Roofers

Digital marketing is by far best ROI. Before you start advertising, create awesome content and post it via your company blog or even better on Youtube. The easiest way to start with content is answer FAQ's and create a video per question.

If you can make your videos entertaining even better. You could start by answering the following:
  • My roof leaks - do I need to have it totally replaced?
  • How should I prepare for the installation of my new roof?
  • How long does it take to replace a roof?
  • How long should a roof last?
  • What is a roofing underlayment?

I have to agree with this. I'm no marketer but I do know if my product looks just like your product I'll just buy the one that is cheapest. Same with roofing IMO.

He's just trying to get his page bumped up. The more times people click on your site the higher your ranking gets. Dirty little truck, just like a roofer.

Re: Marketing Roofers

More clicks isn't going to boost your rankings by itself. There are many more factors than that.
