Any Used NRCA Books Out There?

Hi all. I am about to make a large book purchase so I can test for my roofing license. I have the list of books required....all books are a pretty penny!!!! FOR SURE......books weren't that expensive in college....but I suppose the classes were.

Q. I think I have searched the net twice over for any used books. I have come up empty. So I ask you all if you are aware of a place to purchase these books used. Other wise....here goes close to $750.00 in books.
  • NRCA Repair Manual for Low-slope Membrane Roof Systems
  • NRCA Roofing and Waterproofing Manual, Volumes 1-4 (5th edition
  • NRCA Safety Manual
Thanks!

It is going to be hard to find current volumes needed for testing as most contractors who pass the test, keep the books for future reference.

Try Amazon, you might get lucky.

I hear ya, i was looking for the same. I finally got the 5th edition 1-4 off ebay for more than i wanted to pay 222.00, was hoping the auction didn't draw attention but it did. Amazon has the h/c very a whopping 429.00 I saw one in there a few weeks ago for 240.00 but is gone. I think you can buy for 350.00 direct from nrca. Once i pass i will probably resell but won't be taking the test until later march.

Re: Any Used NRCA Books Out There?

Hi, I am also looking for the same books that you have listed. I just signed up on this web sight and was happy to find someone in the same situation as me. Im planing to take the test soon, if i can get the books. If you or any one you know can sell the used books back to me that will be great. Or I can rent the books as well, what ever will be more comfortable for anyone. I need to save some money since getting them for a one time use will come out to be around $800.
Let me know if there is a possibility for me to get the books some how.
thank you
Art

What are there, 3 or 4 books you need, why not get 3 or 4 guys, to each buy one and then swap them out till everyone has had each, would this work? I would be willing to do this, if all were in local area within 1 hour of Chicago, first 3 serious responders to me and we do this! Jason 815.-543.-3031.

And how much to join nrca? People just want to get these books to pass the test & move on without joining anything.

Check ebay & amazon without paying some crazy membership that is not needed.
