37" Shingle

I'm working on a 7 year old addition that was thrown together. Everything is just down either wrong or very badly. I had to replace a roof vent and was measuring the shingles so I could order a couple bundles. Now I was under the impression that shingles come either in 36" or metric 39". Well the shingles on this place all measure 37". I ordered Gaf/Elks as they were the closest metric match. anyhow, what is up with 37" shingles. Is this for real. There is no way someone cut down like 13-14 squares worth of shingles to 37".

Re: 37" Shingle

You can get factory seconds at some places on the cheap. I once got 45 squares of 2 7/8 tabs for a financially challenged customer. This may be what happened. I don't know of any 37" shingles on purpose personally.

Tamko makes 37" shingles
http://www.ebuild.com/product-detail...alt/137071.hwx
All has to do with what plant they are manufactured at.

Re: 37" Shingle

I remember 37" shingles although I've never seen a Tamko.

I'm thinking GAF mid-nineties. I was like WTF

Jeff not sure, but I know we see very little if any Tamko in this area! To the OP, Beacon Supply sells Tamko...
