What Is The Average Price Framing Contractors Charge Per Square Feet?

I just started working independently after working for a framing contractor here in AL. I now work with a general contractor who hands me all the framing jobs. I am currently charging him $2.75 per sq. ft. for new home framing, but that doesn't seem right. I have plenty of experience framing. I've also been asking other buddies of mine but they always evade my question of how much they charge. Perhaps because they don't like competence. What is the average price framing contractors charge? I don't want to over charge because i need the work, but i also don't want to get fooled.

Well, at least tree-fiddy.

An old framer once told me "For years I thought I was the best damn carpenter in California. Come to find out I'm just competent."
