Re: Round Two

I did buy a saw that is designed for steel That keeps the sparks and debris from flying so bad, but I don't think it helps with the noise.

Re: Round Two

Earplugs and outside hearing protection. I can't hear even my whiniest customers with that on so cutting steel should be no problem.

Re: Round Two

One thing I see as a potential problem is the joist hold water.

That's why you drill a few drain holes in them.

That is what I was thinking ,but I am am not sure if I should drill all of them . It is weird , but only about half a dozen are dripping back on the house.

Re: Round Two

I finished the deck today . except the rail. I am gonna finish this thing tomorrow. I got a new phone and I haven't figured out how to post pictures.

A guy down the road has a big 2 story with a wrap around porch waiting for us.
I would kind of like to have a couple days off!

Re: Round Two

This is the screened porch. The 6x6 cedar posts they sent me were not good enough so I am waiting for 7 good ones. Sometime next week.
The plan calls for clear s4s cedar. Special order, The ones they sent were nothing special. These have a nice sguare edge compared to a regular s4s 6x6.

Re: Round Two

98 truckloads of dirt made a big difference on the east side of the house. If this would have been done a year ago , would have saved me alot of time framing,
