Roof Framing For 12' X 16' Shed

I am building a 12' x 16' shed and I'm trying to figure out the best way to frame the roof. I'm going to frame a gable roof with 2x6 rafters on 6/12 pitch. The walls are 2x4x10' and I wanted to put the ceiling joists at 8' and then let rafters sit on exterior walls. I want to avoid putting a large ridge beam and would like to just use a 2x8x16' ridge board. I would like to have a 12 inch projection on both sides. Can anyone please give me some insight on this project? If I would of known before hand I would have only framed the exterior walls at 8' instead of 10'. If go with the original plan can I still put a ledger board around the inside framing and frame my celing joists and attach the rafters to my double 2x4 top plate or is there going to be to much outward force on my exterior walls?

Go to your locale lumber yard and order trusses.

If you dont want trusses. What I've done in the past is if you frame your end walls vaulted to the pitch you want you will have your ridge line. You will need to calculate your side walls to plane properly with your pitch. But I would just do a lean to roof on a shed. Or get trusses....

I think what you have planned should work fine. Make sure you attach the ledger properly and use the appropriate hangers and hold-downs.

Hire a carpenter. He or she will know how to frame a shed.

How would you suppose "normal" conventional framing is? If you know... The answers are plain.

Just frame like usual and if you want an 8' ceiling put joists in at 8'. Maybe I'm not reading this right but I don't see a problem...

Why you need a ceiling in the shed?

I don't think you're a carpenter. You framed 4 walls, then started to wonder about how to put a roof on? And then, if you "would have known beforehand", you would have made the walls 8 feet? What the heck does that mean? That sure looks like DIY to me. If I'm wrong, go ahead and tell us about it.
