I am building a portch roof and it has been a long time . can someone tell me what the rise from the bottom cord to the peek it on a 4:12 pich the span is 23 foot acrost the botttom cord . thanks
good point w/ the 'chord' terminology and description...does a truss certification sheet have total height from the plate? I 'assumed' he was building this out of stick...hence Canning's response. May be the OP is stick building the roof and unfamiliar with the terms, or mabye not
I did a beachfront home that had trusses through one section. The shop drawings had all the dimensions on them. The only problem was, they were 6" taller than the shop drawings. Had to lower the entire section 6" by cutting the wall studs, after the trusses were set and the walls were sheathed.:furious: I won't ever set another truss in a home with height restrictions without checking them first.:whistling
I am dealing with overhang issues at the gables on my metal truss project. The shops say they work, but reality is they don't. Truss manufacturer is picking up the cost of the fix, but what a pain in the ass.
