Re: Ninjas 2016 Parade Houses

I thought I'd post what we're doing- I'd like to get back here more- I miss it.
This is one of the 2 homes were entering in this years parade of homes show.
Nearly 10,000 sq ft with 2 fire poles, spiral slide, 3 secret doors, spiral staircase in a 25' tall turret.
It's a beast for my 4 man crew. I finally broke down and bought a boom lift.

Re: Ninjas 2016 Parade Houses

Way busy- I've turned in 4 new house permits this month. I turned a house down because it was at the opposite end of the county from all this other work.
If it keeps up I'll have to start subbing more stuff out.
I shouldn't complain I guess- work is good

Congrats on the lift!! You will wonder how you ever framed without it. Looks like you are running with the big dogs with those big houses.

This is going to be a good one.

The lift has been awesome. It's a little old (late 80's) but I got a good deal (17k) and it runs good.
I wish I could find more help. I'd hire 2 guys right now if I could find good ones. We have a big labor shortage here.

Re: Ninjas 2016 Parade Houses

I tried to give it away but everyone is slammed. I asked both of the big framing company's I know and they both said they were booked for 6 months. So ya- I'm framing it. I got a little boost and had a buddy and his 3 guys help for 2 days but other than that it's all us. We've been framing for 2 weeks and I figure 3-4 more (probably being optimistic there). It's a good job though. I was actually the high bidder but the owners picked me because I told them I'd be there most of the time (that was before I knew I had gotten about everything I was bidding) and that really appealed to them.

How's things in Texas?

I'll have to give one away but I'll frame the rest. That one is 20 miles away and it's always cold and windy there. The rest are within 3 miles of each other.
How's moma? Pregnancy going good?
