I think everyone should feel safe enough to post up their pictures, especially of their own house. If the fear of ridicule stops guys from posting something I feel we are missing the mark.

This thread is a great example of the dilemma we face when someone posts up and all the areas for improvement are right there for the veiwing, all close up and screaming for criticism. So what do we do?

I believe in a perfect world the op would get info he needs and inspired to do better next time.

So i ask you all that have read and responded, did you give that your best shot? No responses are necessary to that, just something I find worth pondering.

I'm sorry for not bringing my A game to my constructive criticism.
Hey Gus, if my post inspired this post, don't fret over me. I was trying to be funny. I won't ever hesitate to post pics of work I'm proud of.

Personally, I feel constructive criticism of my work makes me strive to do better.

I am struggling to regain what little I have left of my life to be able to pay my debts created by my kids and still have money to retire on. Everything I owned was lost due to them. They almost got my house too by having me arrested for saying I was going to shoot my son. I was told I could not go back to my house and lived with my co worker for 2 nights untill his wife started squalking. So I left and lived in the back of my van. Hell, I did not even have any money when the police told me to leave and I managed to get a 4 piece chicken dinner which I nibbled on for three days. When the DA found out they lied to get me out the way, she dropped the charges and I was finally able to return home. I have always been too kind hearted and let people stomp on me left and right, but when I walked through the door hell followed me. I blew up and told them all to kiss my a** and get the hell out. They destroyed my house during the 6 months I was away. My wife and I returned to nothing. They took everything. My antique coin collection, my dish's, furniture, beds, everything. We were so depressed. So we tore the house apart and remodeld it. We are about 1/4th done. Her and I alone replaced floor joists, walls, sub floor, plumbing, electrical, everything. She is very proud of the way it looks. Thats all I care about because she is all I have left in this world. And as long as she is happy, I am.

So you see, the criticism does not bother me one bit. I been through more BS from my kids than anyone here can put me through.
Damn, dude, that's rough.

Keep your head up and keep making your wife smile. The reward of doing something like that together with your wife and being proud of it far outweighs anything that can be said here.

Re: My Custom Window Trim

I think the $150 includes the alcohol consumed while completing the project.

Re: My Custom Window Trim

Sorry, the 150.00 includes the new windows, and the trim wood.

My bad, if it was 150 for the trim wood, I would have gone 2-1/4 colonial.

Thats just the tip of the iceberg. My childhood was one that some think was fictional. But there are those who know the truth.

I try to have a good attitude. Life is too short. Plus what can I gain by being an Ahole? Whats done is done. Nothing can change the past, but I CAN change the future.
